As a college advisor, she provides targeted and strategic college admission advising to help high school students maximize their college options. Drawing upon a marketing and communications background, organization skills honed from working with busy students, and an eye for detail, she helps students find and apply to best match schools and create college applications that tell their story and help them stand out from the pack.

Josie is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and the Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC). She attends annual professional development conferences to stay on top of the evolving trends, topics, and ethics of college admission advising. In addition, she is trained to administer the YouScience aptitudes and interest assessment.  She is also a certified Strong Interests Inventory practitioner. Josie has received extensive mentoring in the Wow Writing Workshop method of guided essay writing. She continues to stay abreast of college news and admission developments through visiting schools, her own extensive research, and regular roundtables with college advising colleagues.

Josie prides herself on guiding students through the college search and admission process in a paced, sane way that respects the many demands on students’ time while helping them stay on track. She works with a range of students with a range of abilities, and helps all of them find their best match schools.  She requires only that her students want her guidance and engage in her process.
